Burlington Northern Santa Fe April 30 launched its revamped Web site aimed at improving navigation.
The site, www.bnsf.com, now includes four main customer buttons that link users to information-containing pages:
• iPower, BNSF's Web-enabled tools including iPlan, iShip, iManage, iTrace and iPay;
• Markets, which provides information on BNSF-served geographic regions and commodities;
• Prices, offering real-time prices and additional information to enable customers to better plan their shipments, including miscellaneous charges, pricing updates and price-related maps; and
• Products and Services, which provides information on BNSF's offerings, including guaranteed services and economic development.
BNSF designed iPower around the shipping process to help keep shipments moving from origin to destination.
Customers through iPlan can plan freight moves, and obtain transit-time and price data; iShip, bid on guaranteed placement and create detailed shipping instructions; iTrace, track and trace shipments; iManage, build performance reports, and access and manage storage and demurrage charges; and iPay, electronically pay freight bills.
