BNSF Railway Co. is negotiating an option with real estate development firm The Allen Group to purchase several hundred acres in a Dallas logistics park for a proposed intermodal terminal.
The railroad is seeking an 18-month option to provide time to determine the feasibility of constructing the facility in southern Dallas County. The Allen Group is developing the 6,000-acre Dallas Logistics Hub, which will include 60 million square feet of office and industrial facilities served by rail, truck and air.
Last month, BNSF contracted The Allen Group to help the Class I develop a logistics park — which will include an intermodal terminal — near Gardner, Kan.
