BNSF's 'Ethanol Express' to serve DFW storage terminal
advertisement
On Nov. 1, BNSF Railway Co. will begin delivering unit trains to Musket Corp.'s newest ethanol storage terminal in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
The 10 million-gallon-storage capacity facility features a rail spur and can unload a 95-car unit train every 24 hours. Tank cars are drained via an underground piping system and ethanol is pumped directly into four storage tanks.
BNSF will serve the facility via its Ethanol Express™, a unit-train program designed to move ethanol from a single origin or gathering location to a single destination. Ethanol Express offers ethanol producers increased fleet utilization, lower inventory costs, and logistics coordination and support, BNSF said. The Class I moves more than 370 million gallons of ethanol annually via the program.
