The Belgian National Railway Co. recently ordered 60 electric multi-system locomotives from Siemens Transportation Systems. The $275 million order, which includes an option for 60 additional units, represents Siemens’ first electric locomotive order in Belgium.
The Eurosprinter ES60U3 type locomotives, which also can be used on Belgium’s L2 high-speed line that links Brussels and Liege, are scheduled to be delivered between January 2009 and June 2010.
