Birmingham to receive $23 million from feds for intermodal terminal

On Monday, Rep. Artur Davis (D-Ala.) and Birmingham, Ala., Mayor Larry Langford announced the city will receive $23 million in federal funding for a new intermodal facility.
The terminal will serve as a central outlet for trains, buses and taxis. The city expects to receive construction bids within 60 days and complete the project within three years.
