At this week’s InnoTrans rail transportation trade show in Berlin, Germany, Bombardier Transportation unveiled a TRAXX diesel-electric locomotive.

The new model caps off the TRAXX product line, which now includes locomotives featuring AC, DC and multi-system propulsion.

Bombardier already has obtained orders for the new model. In 2005, German passenger-rail agency LVNG ordered 11 TRAXX P 160 DE locomotives, which Bombardier will deliver in late 2007. In addition, leasing company CB Rail has ordered 10 TRAXX F 140 DE freight locomotives.
