Rail News: Rail Industry Trends
Bombardier Transportation is taking steps to optimize and standardize supply-chain and logistics processes for its European production facilities. The company recently contracted Penske Logistics as lead logistics provider and freight transportation provider Schenker Deutschland AG as preferred carrier.
Penske will coordinate all logistics processes, providing Bombardier a uniform and more simplified invoicing system, improved efficiency and more transparent logistics. Penske also will be responsible for selecting carriers and negotiating contracts.
Penske and Schenker will begin providing services in early 2008.
