Rail News: Rail Industry Trends
The Swiss Federal Railways recently awarded a $178 million contract to Bombardier Transportation to supply 140 low-floor passenger coaches. The agreement includes an option for an additional 48 vehicles, which would bring the total contract value to $234 million.
Scheduled to be delivered between July 2008 and July 2012, the coaches will replace cars in the railway’s regional train fleet.
