London’s Docklands Light Railway recently awarded a $91 million contract to Bombardier Transportation to design and build 31 automatically guided light-rail cars.
In May 2005, the agency awarded a $94 million contract to Bombardier for 24 of the cars. As part of the latest contract, the railway is exercising an option for nine cars included in the 2005 contract.
The additional cars are scheduled to be delivered between July 2008 and October 2009.

Bombardier to build another 31 light-rail cars for London transit agency

In May 2005, the agency awarded a $94 million contract to Bombardier for 24 of the cars. As part of the latest contract, the railway is exercising an option for nine cars included in the 2005 contract.
