Bombardier Transportation and China’s Ministry of Railways recently signed a long-term strategic cooperation framework agreement under which the ministry will order additional high-speed electric multiple units from Bombardier-led joint venture Bombardier Sifang Power Transportation Ltd.

Bombardier also will help build and operate a maintenance facility for the trainsets. To be complete in 2007, the Guangzhou, China, facility is designed to maintain 250 trainsets. Under the 20-year agreement, Bombardier will design and equip the facility, and supply spare parts, maintenance management services, technical support and training.
