Italian railway Trenitalia recently awarded a $487 million contract to Bombardier Transportation to supply another
150 E464 locomotives. The railway already has ordered 538 of the locomotives from Bombardier.
To become part of the agency’s regional passenger-rail fleet, the locomotives will reach top speeds of 100 mph. The 150 units are scheduled to be delivered between February 2008 and March 2010.
