Rail logistics software provide Bourque Data Systems recently certified RFTrax’s Asset Management Platform™ (AMP) for use with its RAILTRAC® system.
Designed to wirelessly monitors rail cars using Global Positioning System technology, AMP features digital cellular transmission and two-way communication between the Asset Command Unit mounted on a car and back-end software. The system issues a report as often as every 10 minutes.
RAILTRAC can trace rail cars by customer, route or product; profile cars; and provide historical shipment analyses by route and route segment.
By integrating AMP and RAILTRAC, petrochemicals and plastics shippers can obtain regular data feeds and alerts on the location and status of tank cars, according to the companies.
