Last week, Transportation Technology Center Inc. (TTCI) announced it appointed Barrie Brickle general manager of TTCI (UK) Ltd. in London to succeed Firdausi Irani, who rejoined TTCI’s Pubelo, Colo., center as assistant vice president of business development.

Most recently a TTCI senior scientist, Brickle has managed several multi-million-dollar international projects and helped test rail vehicle crashworthiness for the U.S. Department of Transportation and other clients.

Prior to joining TTCI, he served as a professor of mechanical engineering at London Southbank University, held various positions at British Aircraft Corp., acted as an independent consultant investigating engineering failures and accidents, and managed the U.K. Office of Failure Analysis Associates. During a stint as a rail industry consultant, Brickle helped develop an anti-rail contact fatigue wheel profile.
