The Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority (NFTA) recently finished installing a network of closed-circuit cameras within the 6.2-mile Metro Rail light-rail system.

The Buffalo, N.Y., agency installed 174 cameras in and outside of stations, and on platforms. The cameras feed into a video wall, where NFTA police officers can view multiple locations and stations simultaneously, and pan around and zoom in on certain areas.

The $1.2 million camera network was designed and installed by Siemens Building Technologies.
