Last week, President Bush announced he intends to nominate Calvin Scovel as inspector general for the U.S. Department of Transportation. Scovel would succeed Kenneth Mead, who resigned in February.
Currently a senior judge for the U.S. Navy-Marine Corps Court of Criminal Appeals, Scovel previously served as the Marines’ chief defense counsel.
The nomination will be sent to the Senate, which will conduct a confirmation hearing.
