CANAC's contribution to Kenyan railway garners award

On Feb. 5, Canadian International Development Agency and Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters presented its 11th annual Canadian Awards for International Cooperation.
Among the eight winners, CANAC Inc. received the Bombardier Transportation Award for the Provision of Transportation Infrastructure, Transport Equipment or Services, or Other Capital Equipment.
The award recognizes CANAC's performance as part of the Magadi Railway Project in Kenya, helping provide "sustainable transportation services that contribute to the long-term development of the local economic base," according to a prepared statement.
The awards recognize Canadian businesses' achievements in helping reduce poverty in developing countries of Central and Eastern Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean.
