Energy and grain-based foods company CHS Inc. recently acquired Winona River & Rail Inc., a Rosen's Diversified Inc. subsidiary that provides agricultural fertilizer marketing, storage, and rail and barge unloading services.

Located along the Mississippi River in Winona, Minn., Winona River & Rail has 90,000 tons of dry fertilizer storage capacity, a dedicated river dock and 65-car railroad track. CHS will rename the company CHS Winona River & Rail.

The acquisition will strengthen CHS’ Midwest and upper Mississippi River crop nutrients position through improved storage capacity and rail access, the company said in a prepared statement.
