CN and Canadian Pacific today announced their inclusion in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI).

CN was named to the DJSI World for the 11th consecutive year and to the North America Index (DJSI North America) for the 14th consecutive year.

"Our dedicated team of railroaders is committed to making sustainability an essential part of the way we do our work every day," said CN President and CEO Tracy Robinson in a press release.

The indices benchmark corporate sustainability performance based on an assessment of comprehensive governance, economic, environmental and social criteria.

This year, CP was named to the DJSI World Index for the first time and to the DJSI North America for the third consecutive year. The Class I performed "particularly well in the areas of human rights, supply chain, occupational health and safety, environmental policy, management and reporting, and corporate citizenship and philanthropy," CP officials said in a press release.

"At CP, we continuously challenge ourselves to innovate across our business and develop meaningful ways to serve our customers, each other and the communities we operate in and through," said CP President and CEO Keith Creel.

The full results and list of DJSI constituents are available here.
