On July 11, Canadian National Railway Co. and United Transportation Union reached a tentative three-year agreement covering 80 locomotive engineers, conductors and brakemen on CN's former Duluth, Winnipeg & Pacific Railway (DW&P) unit in northern Minnesota.
Terms of the agreement — which would take effect Sept. 1 — weren't released pending ratification by UTU members.
DW&P primarily hauls lumber, potash and paper, and connects with CN at International Falls, Minn.
