CN assigns four execs to high-ranking VP positions

CN recently appointed Gordon Trafton senior vice president of strategic acquisitions and integration. Most recently SVP-Southern Region, Trafton first will be assigned to oversee the continued integration of the former Elgin, Joliet & Eastern Railway into CN's network.

CN also named Jim Vena SVP-Southern Region to succeed Trafton. Most recently SVP-Western Region, Vena joined CN in 1977 as a brakeman and later held various operations and marketing positions.

In addition, CN appointed Mike Cory SVP-Western Region to succeed Vena and Jeff Liepelt, VP-Eastern Region.

Most recently SVP-Eastern Region, Cory began his CN career as a diesel shop laborer in 1981. He since has held increasingly responsible positions in field, regional and network operations management. Most recently VP of operations-Southern Region, Liepelt joined the former Illinois Central in 1978 as a brakeman.

All four execs will report to Executive VP of Operations Keith Creel.
