The First Nations blockade is over and so is Canadian National Railway Co.’s traffic embargo. The railroad resumed operations on its Toronto-to-Montreal mainline after native protesters ended a blockade near Marysville, Ontario.
On June 29, CN halted train service and embargoed traffic on the line because of the protest. CN officials anticipated some train delays because of the blockade.
The Toronto-to-Montreal corridor is CN’s busiest, averaging 25 freight trains and 22 VIA Rail Canada Inc. trains daily.
