CN hands out awards honoring chemical shippers' safe-handling efforts

Canadian National Railway Co. recently presented Safe Handling Awards to 118 chemical shippers.
Introduced in 1992, the awards recognize CN customers that ship 100 or more hazardous-material tank cars annually, and successfully meet safe-handling and shipping objectives.
Winners for the 11th-straight year are Pioneer Chemicals Canada Inc., Enersul Operations Inc. and BP Canada Energy.
CN also named Corporate Safe Handling and Continuous Improvement award winners.
Recognizing customers whose combined facilities ship more than 5,000 hazardous-material tank cars and meet safe-handling criteria, Corporate Safe Handling Awards were presented to BASF Corp., BP, The Dow Chemical Co., E.I. du Pont de Nemours, Husky Oil Ltd., Mississippi Chemical Nitrogen Inc., Pioneer Chemicals Canada and Ultramar Ltee.
Honoring shippers that demonstrate improvement over their previous years' safe-handling record, Continuous Improvement Awards were presented to Suncor Energy Products and Formosa Plastic Corp.
