Canadian National Railway Co. recently bestowed its 2003 Safe Handling Awards to 37 Canadian and 40 American chemical shippers.
Introduced in 1992, the awards recognize companies that ship 100 or more hazardous-material tank cars annually, and successfully meet safe-handling and shipping requirements.
"The awards reward customers for thoroughness, care and high standards of execution in handling dangerous goods," said Jerry Boland, CN vice president of sales-industrial products, in a prepared statement.
Last year, CN presented Safe Handling Awards to 118 chemical shippers.
