Teamsters Canada Rail Conference (TCRC)-represented workers recently ratified a new agreement with CN. The pact covers 38 locomotive engineers and conductors who work on lines in eastern Quebec and northeastern New Brunswick.

Expiring Dec. 31, 2011, the agreement calls for paying employees an hourly rate, increasing wages on Jan. 1 and implementing flexible work rules, similar to those in effect on CN’s Northern Quebec Internal Short Line (NQISL), according to the Class I.

Meanwhile, CN also reached a tentative agreement with TCRC for locomotive engineers who work at the NQISL. Retroactive to Dec. 15, 2009, and covering 45 employees, the pact would provide wage increases and improve benefit, according to CN.

Further contract details are being withheld pending ratification by TCRC members, CN said.
