CN's Prince George intermodal terminal gains upgraded entry road

On Sept. 10, Canadian federal officials and local representatives announced the completion of upgrades and expansions to River Road in Prince George, British Columbia.

The project — for which the Canadian government previously committed up to $3.5 million to help the city of Prince George fund the improvements — will provide shippers better access to CN’s intermodal facility in Prince George. Crews added two left-turn lanes to improve access to the intermodal terminal on River Road. They also raised and widened the highway.

“This project is an excellent example of our government’s continued action to increase trade between North America and the Asia-Pacific region,” said Richard Harris, parliament member for Cariboo-Prince George, in a prepared statement. “The CN rail line runs from Edmonton to the Port of Prince Rupert [and] is a key part of the transportation system that brings goods to and from Asia-Pacific countries and Canada.”
