On Jan. 16, Canadian Pacific Railway sold a low-density 7.8-mile spur line in northern New Brunswick to Canadian National Railway Co. Terms weren't disclosed.

"This agreement will enable CN to maintain rail service to an important customer, McCain Foods Ltd.," said Keith Heller, CN senior vice president, Eastern Canada Division, in a prepared statement.

Known as the Edmunston Spur, the line runs between Grand Falls and Cyr Junction, near St. Leonard.
