Today, the Winter Haven, Fla., building commission will consider a property purchase agreement with CSX Corp., which plans to build an Integrated Logistics Center (ILC) on a 1,250-acre site in the city.

To be located west of a CSX Transportation line, the ILC would include a rail, truck and warehousing terminal designed to transfer and store containerized consumer goods. The facility would be the first of its kind in the southeast, CSXT officials claim.

“This is an ideal location to serve the rapidly growing Florida market,” said CSX Chief Commercial Officer Clarence Gooden in a prepared statement.
