CSXI to expand Atlanta-area intermodal terminal

CSX Intermodal is seeking local approvals to expand its intermodal terminal in Fairburn, Ga.
The company plans to add about 700 parking spaces to increase the facility’s parking capacity to 2,200 spaces. CSXI also might build two additional tracks.
The city recently approved a conceptual site plan for the project.
"We are still working through the plan approval process with the city of Fairburn,” says CSX Corp. spokesman Gary Sease, adding that the terminal last year completed 148,000 lifts.
