The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) recently approved plans to upgrade six Norfolk Southern Railway grade crossings and two CSX Transportation crossings. The Ohio Rail Development Commission (ORDC) will oversee construction at the crossings.
NS will install flashing lights and gates at crossings in Moraine, West Carrollton, Carlisle and Macedonia. Most of the projects, which will be funded by federal dollars, are scheduled for completion in September 2011, with the Macedonia project to conclude in March 2011.
CSXT will install flashing lights and gates at two crossings in Oxford Township. To be completed by March 2011, the projects will be funded by CSXT, PUCO and ORDC.
