CSX Transportation and partners Union Pacific Railroad and TFM S.A. de C.V. July 24 launched Access Mexico Via CSX, a program offering shippers an array of coordinated cross-border services, including single-quote moves between U.S. and Mexico origins and destinations.

Access Mexico Via CSX, which initially applies to sheet-steel and coil shipments, also offers shippers a guide outlining how to conduct business in the United States and Mexico, a single bill in U.S. dollars, and multiple warehouse and transload options.

"One call is all customers will have to make to get all the information they need to ship between the United States and Mexico," said Darrell Stanyard, CSXT director of business development-metals, in a prepared statement.

The railroads plan next year to add a full range of commodities to the program.
