CSXT honors chemical shippers' safety excellence

CSX Transportation recently announced a record 73 winners of its annual Chemical Safety Excellence Awards.
The award recognizes chemical shippers’ commitment to safe hazardous material rail-car loading and maintenance. Winners shipped 600 or more rail-cars during 2009 on CSXT. Qualifying shippers include companies from the chemicals, fertilizer, agriculture and metals commodity markets.
This year, CSXT recognized 12 shippers for exemplifying chemical safety excellence for five years: BASF Corp.; BP Products North America; CF Industries Inc.; Eka Chemicals Inc.; Inter-Chem; Kemira Finnchem; Kinetic Resources (LPG); Nan Ya Plastics Corp. America; NGL; Targa Transport L.L.C; Valero Marketing and Supply Inc. and Westlake CA&O.
