CSXT soon to satisfy need for speed in Ohio
advertisement
CSX Transportation Oct. 16 announced plans to boost train speed through Lima, Ohio, to 40 mph starting Oct. 22.
The speed increase would enable CSXT to operate more efficiently and minimize grade-crossing delays for motorists (the Lima area has 13 crossings).
CSXT during the past year improved track and installed or modified crossing safety devices to support faster trains; the Class I daily operates 35 to 40 trains through Lima.
Operation Lifesaver's local representatives recently implemented a campaign to alert Lima motorists of the speed increase.
