Based on the success of its e-business workshops held in Baltimore, Nashville, Tenn., and Orlando, Fla., the past two years, CSX Transportation is scheduling one this year in Chicago.

"The Power of Rail, In the Palm of Your Hand: 2008 eBusiness Workshop" will be held Sept. 29-Oct. 1 in the Windy City.

The workshop will provide attendees hands-on training on CSXT's e-business tools, such as how to submit timely and accurate shipping instructions; manage plant inventory and demurrage; proactively monitor traffic; view, pay and dispute freight bills; retrieve public and private quotes and rates; and order, modify and view car supplies.

The even also will feature an "Ask the Expert Zone" staffed by employees from various CSXT departments to discuss other tools and services.
