CTA completes Armitage Station renovation
advertisement
Last week, the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) reopened Armitage Station, which was renovated as part of the Brown Line capacity expansion project.
The station now features longer platforms to accommodate eight-car trains, elevators, accessible turnstiles, wider stairways, and additional exits and entrances to improve traffic flow. CTA also restored the station’s original brick and terracotta exterior.
Armitage Station is the 10th of 18 stations to be renovated under the $530 million Brown Line project, which is scheduled to be complete by 2009’s end.
