CTA seeks public input on Yellow Line extension

advertisement

Tomorrow, the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) will hold a public meeting on the proposed Yellow Line extension alternatives analysis study. The analysis is part of the Federal Transit Administration's New Starts process that requires agencies to examine all transit options for a corridor and determine the locally preferred alternative.

CTA proposes to extend the line — which runs from the Red Line's Howard Street station to Skokie, Ill. — to provide better connections for reverse commuters between the Yellow and Red lines. The extension also would enable the agency to offer more convenient service to several destinations, such as Westfield Shoppingtown Old Orchard, the Cook County Courthouse, and adjacent office, retail and residential developments.
