Rail News: Rail Industry Trends
Early next month, the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) will hold public meetings to gather feedback on the proposed Circle Line.
Designed to link all of CTA’s and some of Northeast Illinois Regional Commuter Railroad Corp.’s rail lines, the Circle Line would be bounded by 39th Street on the south, Fullerton Parkway on the north, Western Avenue on the west and Lake Michigan on the east.
At the meetings, CTA officials will review results from an alternatives analysis recently conducted by planning and engineering firm DMJM+Harris. Part of the Federal Transit Administration’s funding process, the alternatives analysis identifies options to improve transportation or relieve congestion in a particular area.
