CTA to make 'experimental' service changes permanent

advertisement

This week, the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) will hold a public meeting to obtain feedback on its proposal to permanently adopt the West Side/West Suburban service improvements that were implemented on an experimental basis in June 2006.

The service changes include the addition of the Pink Line, which runs from 54th Avenue in Cicero to the Loop Elevated tracks, via the Paulina Connector and Lake branch of the Green Line. The Pink Line operates over the same track as the Blue Line 54th/Cermak service, which was eliminated due to low ridership. CTA also increased service frequency on the Forest Park branch of the Blue Line.
