The city of Edmonton, Alberta, recently contracted L.B. Foster Co. subsidiary CXT® Inc. to supply about 21,000 concrete ties for the Edmonton Transit System.
The agency will use the ties during construction of a 4.7-mile light-rail extension from the new Health Sciences Station to Century Park. The project is scheduled to be complete by 2009’s end.
CXT will manufacture the ties at its Spokane, Wash., plant and begin delivering units in September.
