Calgary Transit recently awarded a $2.2 million contract to L.B. Foster Co. and its subsidiary CXT Inc. to provide concrete ties, crossovers and turnout ties for the agency’s Northeast and Northwest light-rail extensions.
During the first quarter, L.B. Foster will manufacture the ties and turnouts at its Spokane, Wash., facility.
To be completed in 2007, the $200 million Northeast extension will expand service to McKnight-Westwinds. To be completed a year later, the $152 million Northwest extension will enable Calgary Transit to serve Crowfoot Centre.
