The Association of Car Accounting & Car Services Officers (ACACSO) recently elected the following officers to one-year terms:
• Armando Torres, senior consultant at Latam-Transport Consulting, president and chairperson;
• Connie Schwartz, manager of customer relations at Greenbrier Management Services, first vice president;
• George Jones, director of car accounting at CSX Transportation, second vice president; and
• Garry Neumann, general manager of rail operations at Minnesota, Dakota & Western Railway Co., past president.

Torres, who served as a TFM S.A. de C.V. executive for about nine years, is the first Mexican to serve as the association’s president and chair.

The association plans to hold its 2006 spring meeting May 10-12 in Charleston, S.C. ACACSO's mission is to promulgate rules and methods for improving the handling of freight cars, trailers and containers, and the maintenance of related records and accounts.
