Charlotte transit agency to brand light-rail system as 'LYNX'
advertisement
Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) officials recently chose a name for their new light-rail system: LYNX.
Officials compiled a list of possible brand names by interviewing elected officials, and business and community leaders, and conducting focus groups. CATS then worked with national brand development consulting firm Addison Whitney to narrow down the list of more than 250 names.
The agency currently is constructing the first corridor — the Blue Line — which will open in fall 2007. The 9.6-mile, 15-station line will run from downtown Charlotte, N.C., to Interstate 485.
