Chattahoochee & Gulf Railroad Co. Inc. (CGR) recently filed a notice of exemption with Surface Transportation Board to acquire from Central of Georgia Railroad Co. (CGA) a 24.2-mile line from Hilton, Ga., to Dothan, Ala.

CGR also would acquire from CGA 2.8 miles of incidental overhead trackage rights, enabling 15-mile Chattahoochee Industrial Railroad to interchange traffic with CGA.

CGR expects soon to complete the deal with CGA, which is a Norfolk Southern Railway subsidiary.
