Canadian National Railway Co. May 8 announced that The Dow Chemical Co. awarded the railroad its 2001 Safety Agreement Award, which recognizes transportation providers that meet safety-agreement criteria, and continuously improve equipment handling and transporting procedures.
The Class I last year moved more than 41,500 carloads for the Midland, Mich.-based chemical shipper.
CN plans to contribute $100,000 it received with the award to CN Safety
Scholarships, which the railroad established in 1999 to help fund scholarships for employees' and pensioners' children.
