Chicago ordinance bans smoking in majority of Union Station
advertisement
A new Chicago ordinance will prohibit smoking in train stations throughout the city, including most of Union Station.
To take effect today, the Clean Indoor Air Ordinance will prohibit smoking on Union Station’s train platforms, in the food court and within 15 feet of the building’s exterior entrances.
Smoking already is prohibited in most areas within the station. Now, smoking will only be permitted in a portion of a café and tavern. Violators could be fined up to $100.
