China pegs ImageMap to provide nine track-geometry vehicles

China's Ministry of Railways recently awarded ImageMap Inc. a $19 million contract to supply nine track-geometry vehicles.
ImageMap will supply its Laserail 3000 track-measurement and instrumentation system, and will work in conjunction with Chinese suppliers Nanjing Puzhen and Changchun to provide the vehicles.
The railway ministry plans to use the vehicles — which will operate between 100 mph and 125 mph — to measure track geometry throughout China's rail system.
ImageMap supplies high-speed rail, track and rail-car wheel measurement systems.
