The Class I chief marketing officers provided operational updates and fielded questions from shippers during the 2008 North American Railroads Customer Forum held Monday in San Francisco.
The forum was part of the North American Rail Shippers Association's annual meeting, which attracted more than 300 attendees. Organized by the Association of American Railroads (AAR), the forum included a panel discussion with the CMOs and breakout sessions for shippers to meet individual railroad execs.
"Continuing dialogue between railroads and their customers means a healthy freight-rail network," said AAR President and Chief Executive Officer Edward Hamberger in a prepared statement. "We need to make sure we continue to grow and provide our customers with good, reliable service."
