Cleveland RTA boosts ridership for fourth-straight year

Despite a mid-year fare increase and declining gas prices in 2006’s latter half, the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (GCRTA) posted ridership gains for the fourth-straight year.

The authority carried 57.2 million passengers on its rail and bus systems, a 0.3 percent increase compared with 2005. Light-rail ridership rose 5.1 percent and heavy-rail ridership, 0.5 percent.
