The Columbus Regional Airport Authority’s board recently awarded a $30 million contract to Nickolas Savko & Sons Inc. to construct Norfolk Southern Corp.’s intermodal terminal near Rickenbacker International Airport in Columbus, Ohio.
The project will begin next month and conclude in early 2008. The 300-acre terminal will serve warehouses, airfreight facilities and others within a foreign trade zone.
The Federal Highway Administration has provided a $27.7 million grant for the facility; NS is funding the remainder of the $65 million project.
