The Federal Transit Administration recently announced it will award a $9 million grant to Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) to purchase eight new center-section light-rail vehicles. The agency will use the vehicles to provide level boarding on the Red Line.
DART currently operates one center-section car on the Blue Line that was built by Kinkisharyo. The agency plans to purchase 115 additional cars.
