DHS awards $1.2 million to Charlotte agency

The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) recently obtained a $1.2 million grant from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
CATS will use the proceeds to provide security awareness training to employees, add lighting at the South Boulevard light-rail facility, install intrusion detection alarms at the South Boulevard light-rail facility and purchase mobile explosion detection devices for random checks.
